Mini Mochi

L-Train Scarf

Adapted from the Mochi Plus Mock Plaid Scarf by Susan Druding

Description:  The L train is a subway line in New York that  travels from the Lower West Side to Brooklyn. The slow gradations of gray tones and the subway tile-look of this scarf inspired its urban name.  The L-Train Scarf is designed using slow-striping Mini Mochi as a main color and Mini Solid as the contrast color.  The mock plaid  is created by carrying a slipped stitch across the contrast color.  Alternating bands of garter and Stockinette stitches create texture and helps to flatten the  finished blocked piece.

Level: Easy (garter, St st, slipped sts)

Size:  64" x 5"

Materials:

  • MC - 1 ball of Crystal Palace Mini Mochi (shown in 345 "Fog Bound")
  • CC - 1 ball of Crystal Palace Mini Solid (shown in 1100 "Natural Ecru")

  • Tapestry needle
