Description: These fab legwarmers look smashing in contrasting color ways of Mochi Plus. The Estonian Rib is a great looking diagonal rib, accentuated by alternating bands of Mochi Plus that give the legwarmers a checkered or almost an enterlac look.
Level: Easy - Intermediate (k2 tog, yo's, working in the round)
Size: 17" long x 11" circumference at top and 10" circumference at bottom
Materials:
2 balls Crystal Palace Mochi Plus, color A (shown in 607 "Storm Clouds")
2 balls Crystal Palace Mochi Plus, color B (shown in 629 "Cherries Jubilee")
Gauge: 6½ sts=1" in Estonian rib on larger needle (~5 sts=1" in St st on larger needle)
Abbreviations: k- knit; k2tog- knit 2 stitches together; p- purl; st(s)- stitch(es);
Right increase: tip left needle forward and insert tip of right needle into purl bump of stitch one row below and knit 1 stitch, then knit the stitch on the left needle.
INSTRUCTIONS
The leg warmer is made from the top down.
Using smaller needle and color A, cast on 60 sts. Place marker and join, taking care not to twist stitches.
Work in K1-P1 ribbing for 1.5”.
Change to larger needle and knit one round even.
Increase round: *K4, right increase in next st*. Repeat between * around – 72 sts.
Begin pattern:
*K2, yo, K2, K2 tog.*
Repeat this pattern round 3 times more. Change to color B and repeat this round 4 times.
Continue, changing color every 4 rounds until leg warmer measures 15” from cast-on edge (or 2” shorter than desired length). End by working 4 rounds color A.
Change to color B and knit one round even.
Decrease round: *K2, K2 tog.* Repeat between * around – 54 sts.
Change to smaller needle and work in K1-P1 rib for 2”.
Bind off in pattern, using tip of larger needle.
